Way to Sigiriya...

The Ancient place named of Sigiriya in Sri Lanka situated of Matale District, at Dambulla Divisional secreterial. The name refers to a site of historical and the archaeologial significance that is dominated by massive column fo rock nearly Two hundred meters (six hundred ft) high.

Direction:- From the Inamaluwa junction, at about 7 km to left side located Rock of Sigiriya.

There are two access ways to enter the Sigiriya as local tourists and foreign tourists. But both are overlapped the same place start to climb of Sigiriya. The Rock of Sigiriya, located as an only one flat land hight about 600 ft.

After came Arahath Mahinda Thero, Sigiriya became a monastery. But King Kashyap built his place on the rock. Bhikkhus were scattered. Today Sigiriya is listed World Heritage site by the example of ancient urban planning.

It builds by King Kassapa; Nowadays we can visible it as ruins. This construction is considered because of this place most important to the world. So you can just get a simple idea about Sigiriya from my blog.
