Beginning of the Sinhala Monarchy
According to the chronicles and commentaries of the Mahavamsa, about 700 people with Immoral behavior, including Vijaya, deported from that land and Caught in a storm and floated to Thammennawa (Present day Mannar). He then, along with Princess Kuveni, destroyed the Yakkha tribe (People Who lived here at that time) and The first monarchy (King Vijaya) was established in Sri Lanka.
